A Bit About Me
"Hi! I'm Steven (he/him/they) and I love exploring and collaborating in any expressive medium (visual art, movement, music, theater, writing, culinary, nature, etc)! I have a playful inner-child, am an earthy explorer, and live for designing, organizing, and curating beautiful spaces. I grew up with different perspectives both as a "queer ethnic kid"and as a brother to my gracious, intelligent, and differently-abled fraternal twin, Christopher.
My father is a painter and my mother is an elementary school librarian. These influences guided me to appreciate the worlds of creativity and K-12 education - both fields that I truly enjoy working in! My family's ancestry hails from Cuba, England, and Spain and I continue explore and honor the complexities of my identity as I learn more about my history. I was raised and currently live among the lush green forests and native lands of the Quinnipiac and Hammonasset Tribes of South-central Connecticut. I am grateful to these lands and owe a lot of my awe, inspiration, and spiritual connection to Nature because of it.
Nature, spirituality, playfulness, and impromptu dance/art parties take on an important part of my self-care and are pathways I love sharing with my friends, family, and the people I work with!"
